LAPSUS is an independent art space and organization in the field of visual and digital arts, focused on creative experimentation and valuing young artists and emerging cultural professionals. Located in Timișoara, LAPSUS supports art production to create connections between the public and artists, as well as to establish intergenerational bridges for knowledge and practice transfer in the arts.
LAPSUS was founded in October 2017 as an exhibition space in the Azur factory (spl. Peneș Curcanul in the FABRIC district), and in 2019 it became an NGO with the support of the Gabriela Tudor Foundation. Over nearly 7 years, we have organized exhibitions, workshops for children and young people, residencies, affordable art fairs, mobility programs, and collective creative sessions. We have managed to attract a fan base as well as collaborators, with whom we have expanded into several studios totaling 248 square meters across 10 rooms in the former paint factory on the banks of the Bega Rive
