The main goal of the Transylvanian Art Centre’s is to create, within reasonable time, a realistic, cross-culturally appreciable, convertible self-image of the Transylvanian fine arts, both for itself and for the community . Therefore, the objective of the Centre is to collect, operate, display and present representative Transylvanian art created after 1920 . It also assumes professional care of artists’ legacy and saving their art for future generations. The art collecting interest of Transylvanian Art Centre (TAC), established in Saint George town, ranges from the historical Transylvania and Partium to Bucharest or any other Romanian region. It also collects the Transylvania related works of Romanian, Saxon or other nationality artists who were friends or fellows of Hungarian artists; works of Hungarian artists who were born in Transylvania but who later moved to other countries and, occasionally, creations of foreign artists’ characterized by a Transylvanian touch.

Photographer Károly Szelényi, member of the Széchenyi Academy of Arts in Budapest, will give a lecture entitled "An Introduction to Colour Theory" accompanied by a projection of visual materials. In 2012, Szelényi published his research entitled "COLOURS. Actions and sufferings of light. Goethe's colour theory in everyday life". This work began about a decade and a half ago, intentionally gathering images to illustrate theories about colour. Having studied the literature thoroughly, it became clear to him that Goethe left his mark on almost every territory and aspect.

As the closing event of the exhibition Mányi Albert Györkös, Tibor Pálffy, actor of the Tamási Áron Theatre will recite poems by Albert Mányi Györkös, which are still unknown to the audience, followed by the screening of a documentary film about the painter by director and cinematographer Gábor Xantus.

Zsuzsanna Szebeni, curator of the exhibition and director of the Liszt Institute in Sfântu Gheorghe will give the closing guided tour of the Albert GYÖRKÖS MÁNYI exhibition at the Transylvania Art Centre. This exhibition was realized on the occasion of the commemorative year "Györkös 100", organized by the Györkös Mányi Albert Memorial House in Cluj-Napoca, during which a series of exhibitions and events were held in several Transylvanian cities. The works on display here depict the formative power of the painter's homeland community and present Györkös's essential themes, through classical works to surrealist dream images. This exhibition in the Transylvania Art Centre is the last opportunity to admire so many paintings by Albert GYÖRKÖS MÁNYI from private collections.
