The Blackbox project arose from the desire to diversify the local art scene, respectively from aknowledging the need of a facility dedicated exclusively to experimental art. Blackbox is the first "artist-run space" gallery in Galați, generated and coordinated by the artist Monica Turcu and the curator Vincentziu Pușcașu. Promoting contemporary art and artistic experiment, facilitating a context of manifestation for the curatorial discipline, but also configurating a laboratory of ideas and debate constitutes the scope of this art gallery. The events focused on the public - artistic corpus interaction propose an alternative for capitalizing on ephemeral creative formats, installations, new media and conceptual artistic approaches. Blackbox is the expression of multimedia and artistic interdisciplinarity in the city of Galati.
